Texas State Highway Spur 74 (Spur 74) is a 0.446 mi (0.7 km) spur road in Bowie County, Texas.[1]

Route description

Spur 74 provides access from IH 30 to the now-deactivated Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant. The southern terminus is at US 82 near Victory City, at the entrance to the Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant.[2] The short route travels north through Leary before ending at an interchange with IH 30 at Exit #212.[1]

History

The original route numbered Spur 74 was designated as part of the 1939 highway plan, and connected the historic routing of SH 24 to Whiteface in Cochran County. This mileage was transferred to FM 769 in 1948, which itself would later become part of SH 125.[3] The current routing of Spur 74 was designated in 1961.[1]
